Welcome to another exciting year in the Danish Business Club in Moscow!
DBC was founded in 1995 to facilitate business networking and opportunities for Danish businesses and business people working for Danish companies with an interest in the Russian market. At present the club has approximately 200 members.
The board's objective is to deliver a good mixture of business and social events in a relaxed and non-formal atmosphere. We regularly run morning events at the Royal Danish Embassy on various bilateral topics, invite guest speakers to provide the latest overview on the state of the Russian/world economy and quarterly updates from the embassy.
On the social side we meet monthly for networking and some unrivaled Danish ‘hygge’ – please check the events calendar for the next event. In addition to that we obviously plan to continue with the two very popular events – the mid-summer party, which is traditionally held in June at the Embassy dacha and the Christmas party at the Embassy.
We can also be found on LinkedIn, where the members can share articles, post questions, etc. that may be of general interest to the other members of the club.
DBC is here for the members and we therefore encourage our members to actively participate in the events and provide us with input and suggestions regarding future events.
Please feel free to contact any member of the board whenever you have a question and we will be happy to assist you. The contact details can be found under the tab ‘DBC Board’.
We look forward to seeing you at the next event.
On behalf of the Board of DBC in Moscow,
Steen Sørensen
Chairman of the Board

Moscow December 6th 2011
Dear friends,
The destiny has wanted my ways passing through Russia… or rather INTO Russia!
And I am very happy it has happened to me!!!
Lots of things have changed in Russia - to the better - since '95, when I settled in Moscow.
One of the good things is that we created the DBC around this time!
I am very happy to have contributed to it and to see the continuously positive development of it.
Congratulation!
I feel I have had a wonderful, exiting and successful time in Russia.
During all this period I met many interesting, beautiful, warm and helpful people of all nationalities, who inspired and in many cases supported me to perform my duties in Russia….
I was also lucky to have the most supportive and devoted working team in Haldor Topsøe Offices in Moscow. Together we created a huge network and many interesting projects in Russia and other FSU countries … and we even received awards from DBC and Dansk Industry & HRH Prince Henrik in 2000 and 2008, respectively…
Now, after 16 years of a permanent stay in Russia it's my turn to let (or rather: hand over to) others the task of maintaining and developing the positive trend of business...
As of 1 of January I leave Russia and will take care of other tasks, some work and for sure more leisure.
I plan, however, to keep my membership to the DBC for next year, as I expect to visit Moscow from time to time.
So for now, I would like to send hereby my most cordial and sincere thanks to all of you who have crossed my way in a positive “way” and hope our roads will cross again wherever.
...and I may even consider to come back to Russia on a part time or "ad-hock" basis should an interesting task show up...
So therefore I don't say
"Прощайте", but...
«ДО СВИДАНИЯ!»

Sankt Hans Midsummer party 2011
Our annual Midsummer party at the Danish embassy's new dacha was a great success. Despite a gloomy weather forecast that had called for rain the clouds parted when the party started.
With gracious donations of food, drinks toys and materials by Uhrenholt, Arla Foods, Faxe, Carlsberg, LEGO, Rockwool and Simple Wines it is safe to say that everyone went home on a full stomach and with a big smile.
Should you have any pictures you would want us to share please forward them to our secretary.

A briefing on Putin’s visit to Denmark April 2011
Dear members
DBC’s arrangement “A briefing on Putin’s visit to Denmark April 2011” at the Danish embassy on May 4th was according to the guests a great success, especially given the short notice to speakers and guests alike.
The Danish ambassador to Russia Mr. Tom Risdahl Jensen briefed the audience about the much anticipated visit by Prime Minister V. Putin to Denmark that took place on April 27th and what it means for the Danish companies doing business in and with Russia. Tom
After some years of strained relations between the two countries we now see a lot stronger ties. This was evident with the official signing of large contracts between i.e. FLSchmidt, DONG and others.
Building strong and personal connections has now paid off for the Danish firms who truly believed in the continuing development of the Russian market.
Also speaking was Simon Kruse Berlingske Tidende’s Moscow correspondent. He shed some light on the media’s coverage of the state visit and gave the participants a reporter’s perspective of what is seen as being newsworthy and what is not.
Italian Cooking Extravaganza at ‘Accademia del Gusto’
Our last event, which was held on Saturday April 16th, 2011 was attended by 20+ members of DBC. The event was led by Executive Chef Roberto Bruno from the Moscow restaurant ‘Il Camino’ and under his guidance the participants had a lot of fun learning how to cook ‘the Italian way’.
Look forward to seeing you at the next DBC event.
